Who would You Vote For

If you sit back and have the ability to actually saddle the idea of only having two choices.  If it were a decision of life and death without any third option.  Could you make it?  Or would you freeze and wait for the ice cull you under?  Because I have serious question but some of our friends this isn't relevant.  No offense truly but you are not cut out for making those type decisions.  When your instinct tell your nervous system move its' not a voluntary decision.  But when you freeze you don't act your mind isn't engaged.  This is a simple question with the old familiar as one choice and what we are told is worse on the other.

If you only had a single choice

between  two men for president ,

Would you pick well know long time arc nemesis John McCain whose reach across the isle is won that ends us up with a knife in our back.   Amnesty done, Taxes up by 15-20%, or what about every other thing he has touched he is the Hugh Hewitt of the Senate.  Sorry Hugh that was a terrible gamble and you are known for getting behind for real winners  (thats' my dunken sailor apology).

You have the choice of this and only this nothing but this if you can't comprehend only having two choices in an issue your denial is the weakness that makes you freeze.

John McCain

or

Mike Huckabee

If you said McCain you are either still drunk from the CPAC convention or not a  conservative republican.  Ask talk radio Hannity, Hewiit, Limbaugh, Coulter, Ingraham, Savage, or Boortz.  Even though Boortz is on record as pimpimg the fairtax  I mean he already voted for Huckabee.  But Prager or Medved would be gauranteed not to grasp only having two choices.   If  anyone still listens to that clown that wrote the dog book keep your ear off the phone.  He might just give Sprite the write in vote.

Paper Tiger Conservative

What is a Paper Tiger Conservative?

A Paper Tiger Conservative is someone who is not a conservative.

The term is used to describe an action that attempts to disguise their own liberal shortcomings with conservative talking points.  By not upholding the principles of small government, individual liberties, and strong national defense.  This individual is also liable to switch positions frequently on the same issue. A key element uses a projecting of their own behaviors on those around them to confuse the issue.  They seek the status of equal and the benefits of a victim. They are both the ying and sudo-yang of our party.  They call for balance from the outside and cause destruction from within.  While they oppose the party platform they seek praise from the opposition.  They call this a compromise, they call it bi-partisan.  The blood letting Tiger seeks to ensnare the ignorant and weaker in knowledge.  Its' predatorial instincts allow it to veil failure seizing the right opportunity to change the subject.  This person would make a grade A democrat except the one thing they lack is positive popularity.  They are really the misfit liberal whose life is devoted to the quest of being accepted by those it looks up to the left.

irrr---rock, irrr---rock evangelical, evangelical

Do you want to know about Mike Huckabee?  Well so do the rest of us but when it comes to the mainstream ideologue all we hear about in the discussion I could teach a bird.

We know a lot about John McCain.  On the count of three everyone who would vote Ron Paul over John McCain mono y mono raise your hands.  Who would vote Duncan hunter, how about Thompson, Guiliani?  Who coined the phrase RudyMcromney yeah that guy the former Michigan Governor who would vote for him over McCain.  Just head to head not multiple choice pick one.  I would vote for my former congressman from the 6th congressional district of Colorado Tom INS Tancredo who I have had the pleasure of voting for to the House of US Representatives.

Mitt Romney

Like it  or not everything was the big unknown.   Religion,  true politics, and dedication to long term conservatism.   Walking into the convention with talk-radio is not a credential.  66% of the electorate voted against McCain.  You were there Huck was supposed to be out after his flash in the pan at Iowa.  If you want to endear himself as as conservative.  Or if  you are trying to do what is in the best interest of the GOP for the good of the party you have a choice.  There is an obvious rift in conservatism, McCain is from Washington.  Washington is broken but will also conservatism be broken according to Romney?  The king maker convention time decision will be seen as shrewd.  The spoiler role would disqualify you from ever being taken seriously ever again.  I will tell you why because to get support add having to over come the nightmares of 08'.  Because of being seen as the one who didn't act, because we have to an election in 8 months.  Add to it 4 years of torture being entrenched in the minds of voters in the next primary.   The premise will be,  what if he looses?  We might end up with four more years of McCain/Hillary Obama pick one.  However by adding Huckabee you benefit the party because the press would breath life back into the party.  Even if John McCain won which he won't Romneys' selfless act would be like 911 to Guiliani,  Reagans Berlin wall.  You would be the guy who saved us from McCain.  But even if the democrats win you can't be blamed.  Don't you get that?  We voted for Bush in 00' loyal conservatism overlooked Bush on immigration that is why talk-radio has been anti-McCain as long as they have been anti-Clinton.  The chance for a ground swell of good will a tide that would crush the Hillary/Obama ticket and last a generation.

All we are saying is unifying base could be your road 2016 but if the libs wins this time it will be ugly again.

Litmus Test Faces Talk Radio Giants

Is it just a bit of double talk?  Or is talk-radio the genuine article?  There is a single test that could best elicit that result.  A talk of conservatism and principles or lack of is what sets the division between social and fiscal conservative.   McCain is neither, yes John it is too good to be true you can never be trusted and to many of us know it.  But he prof of that is in whether or not bth conservatives see this as common ground.

So I make this challenge  to talk radio and Mitt Romney supporters :

If Mike Huckabee wn the GOP nomination would you support him in a general election????

Sounds simple party unity Hugh would Huckabee be worse than Hillary/Obama?    Anne Coulter seriously Huckabee (R)  vs Clinton (D) .....is there any question?  Sean knows he said as much "...ah Mike I just saw you and Mitt spliting the conservative vote ....I chose Mitt."   Rush even made huge strides away from the Mc-Hotater.

//JUST SAY IT// I (fill in the blank)would vote for Mike Huckabee if he were the Republican nominee for president!!!

Stop the PRESS!!! Hannity sudo-endorses Huckabee

What a change a weekend makes from the lifting of the inevitablility of a McCain nomination by Rush whose sudo-endorsement supressed the GOP vote on Super Tuesday.  By way of trying to gag the base with a mitten.

Now Sean Hannity alomst sounds as though if he knew then waht he knows now he would have voted for Huckabee.  EIther way I have been highly critical of both men.

These are persons who I respect and it hurts me more than it could ever hurt them to display them in this light.  However I have long follow the very respectable conservative record and service to man of Arkansas Govenor Mike Huckabee.

I don't harbour any disrespect for Mitt Romney who speaks extremely well.  He has a strong conservative message that I completely agree with.  He lacks however one critical component to becoming president at this time.  His record is anything but consistant with that message.

The fight has been much to do about tactics.  We conservatives are supposed to be above the negative,  the distortion and projection type  attacks typically on display from liberals.  These attack were all leveled at Huckabee to boost the favor toward Romney.

Huckabee voters will not vote for McCain based on principal.  Not for any reason yet we were brought into the attck being blamed for what they term as his impending nomination.  We see the influence of the talkers not being able to read the tea leaves.  Going against the obvious tide of support for conservative Mike Huckabee.  It started when Mike won Iowa and it may have finally have come to an end.  When Sean had Mike Huckabee on for what sounded like a public apology for his treatment.  The gracious Govenor offered his hand in true friendship.  Sean had just got done saying he was officially saying he was stopping the "Stop Hillary Express" was it code for ending the attacks on Huck time will tell.  Attacks should be based in fact not only on sound bites and talking points.

President Huckabee is a long way from the wrath acrooss the isle of his opponent.  John McCain is not presidential material his status is a product of a conservative split that may just be a bit misunderstood.  We the Huckabee voters do hold anything against Mitt Romney or anyone who worship God as a member of LDS.  We do question his record which has always been mutual fair game.  In the matter of religion one thing is certain.  Though growing in numbers there are fears that a religion of Mormon as being controvercial of a national stage.  What a persons believes about issues are explained not by words but by record.  There very many high profile hurdles Mormonism has created in its' measurable existence.  The issues are especially amplified when those things are not brought out into the open.  The fact that Mitt believes in God or that Mormons are for the most part good people are not in question.  What is however the certain doctrines in the LDS faith about race, and the role of women.  We know they have changed their core beliefs as it relate to them.  What we don't know is why?   It is not enough in a year when our opponents offer the first non-white and the first female candidates as their possible nominee.  The civilrights issue has got to be as transparent as we can make it in our party.  Why?  Because our elected officials see it as an offer of reparations.  Ask Trent Lott if dodging the  race card works he still hears about it.  What about Justice Thomas he was dragged threw the gutter for an accusation.  I am hopeful that this will serve as a wake up call not to talk-radio and not to Mitt Romney.  This is a message to Mormons.  You have to completely renounce these roots to those who took these positions and explain the break of your church from these practices.

Redefining Conservatism

Well there you have it according to George Bush on Fox News Sunday we have a conservative frontrunner.  Two parts conservative just add water.  How on this earth can any objective person see McCain as authentic his conservative gesture of unity.   Then you have the hacks of CPAC who would not let Mike Huckabee speak until they voted in a strawpoll for the one who was siphoning his vote.   Laura Ingraham introduced Romney when he dropped out of the race on Thursday, then McCain spoke to CPAC.  We don't care how the neo-conservative left wing of the party (CPAC) wants to spin things.  They have given their sudo-endorsement to the most anti-conservative candidate to run for a party nomination since Rockafeller.  Then the party refuses to count the caucus vote in Washington to stop momentum for Huckabee.  They treat Huckabee like Ron Paul who is way off the reservation.  Yet Paul is still 5x the true conservative McCain ever was.   These empty headed sound bite relay switches actually think that they can shovel a McCain nomination is a conservative choice over Huckabee.  Based on what?  We will never hear the answers because they are ignorant to the facts.

Conervatism is measured  by actions not by projection.  That is what sank Romney the talk radio favorite "Paper Tiger Conservative".  They substitute his words ignore his actions and promote his posutmous candidacy so as to pit blame on social conservatives for their "Patsy".  McCain is hand picked to loose to Hillary so they can make the case in 4 years we need Mitt.  Hewitt brought up the LDS factor but thinks that by doing so it ends the discussion.   So all we hear about is Huckabee being a Baptist Minister.  But if we speak about LDS bishop  Mitt Romney we are bigots.  I didn't know that we had also redefined discrimination to include questioning the loyalties of a man.  The same people do so with regaurd to Obama and Clinton.  They write books such as "Godless" remember liberalism is Hillarys' religion, they talk about Islam with respect to Barrack Huesien Obama.  They say Huckabee can't stand infront of a window pane or he might be trying to use the backround to sneek in his true agenda.   The point is all of this is relavent it is part of a candidate chartacter as much as anything else.  Cherry picking LDS for victimisation that is a true display of liberalism.  If Mitt was the nominee I could see Tim Russert asking him about several LDS things.  The renounced doctrines of polygomy which would involve all seven of Mitts' great-grandmothers.  The curse of "Cain" which discriminates blacks and anyone with a quote "single drop of black blood".  Without him having a mainstream conservative record and support it is those things that would de-rail his campaign.  Wait until they ask McCain about his famous "gooks" statments.  This is like nominating Robert Byrd VA senator and former klansmen to higher office.  I am no baptist and I don't see myself as the "Evangelical Voter".  I do however see it as a religion without a checkered past of scandel.  Finally not to beat a dead horse but how is it that LDS had nothing to do with 90% of Utah republicans voting for Romney?

Yes conservatism is a game to some that is why they can't stop talking about Reagan.

Doing the Work Talk-Radio Just Won't Do

Seconds after Louisana annouced Mike Huckabee had won nail biting 3000 vote primary in their state.  Washington state Republican campaign officals called premature stop to the caucus vote count with 20% of the total vote remaining.   With a mere 229 vote lead they then declared John McCain the winner.  Mike Huckabee was well on his way poised to sweep the all three GOP contests.  The talking heads believe he should pull out, they wanted him to pull out before Super Tuesday.  I say it was that shrill retoric in framing the election as a two person contest between Romney and McCain that supressed the GOP turnout.  With 66% of the voters voting against McCain talk radio is clearly embedded on the wrong side on the issues.  What we learn from Huckabees' sweep on Saturday of decided results is that like a sponge.  Like a sponge he soaks up the Romney vote.  Denial of this fact is ignorant Mitt only got 6% of the vote in Louisana.  Those are Ron Paul numbers.  Now they seek to woo a bunch of "independents" around  Senator John McHee-Haw.

COUNT THE VOTE!!!

Cat Got the Tongue of Talkers

It's not over until talk says it is.  So now that they have circled the wagons for their neo-conservative champion John McCain the silence is deafening.  The real message here is a pattern of corruption.  In the image Slick Willy seeking to change the subject talk-radios Rush Limbaugh is slated to launch salvo at feminism.  The focus of GOP voter is interested in the known as much as it is the unknown.  Sean Hannity will tought his most complete coverage of campaign news but not of the facts.  He will devote his entire show to attacking Hillary and Obama in an attempt change the subject.  Talk radio needs a wake up call.  Huckabee has been snubbed ever since he shocked the GOP big wigs by not going down in Iowa.  The fix is in now as they cover their tracks Huckabee has been running his campaign not against Romney or McCain but against CPAC, talk radio and the elitest left wing of the GOP.

Now they want us to shut up.  Three wordsCOUNT THE VOTE!!!

SCANDLE ROCKS GOP CAUCUS IN WASHINGTON

Some in the GOP mainly the neo-conservative think tank CPAC seek to furthur snub the base this Saturday in Washington state as the vote count stop.  Amid corruption at a moment when Mike Huckabee stand on the verge of sweeping the three primarys they thought to aviod.  This outrageous behavior on the part of the left wing of the GOP is a mirror image and has all the hallmarks of the Clinton Machine.  Now is not the nor the place nor shall that time come to pass soon in which any candidate be forced from the GOP primary.  The breadcrumbs seem to point directly back to MItt Romney.  After his failed attempt to buy an election it only stands to reason this sore looser wants to take his toys home because he owns talk-radio and he thinks he owns the GOP.  You want to talk unity go caucus with Hillary her and McCain are great buddys.  But you will not run us out without a fight.  Count the vote  in Washington, might just recount Missouri too while you are at it.  Talk radio is trying to put a cap on a powder keg of conspiricy.  Talk you blowhard know it alls explain how you could be so wrong.  You threw you saddle on a donkey not happening so you board the straight BS Rino express.  Mike Huckabee is not corrupt the corruption is the denial of fact.  The fact is that he was the one being hurt by Romneys failed attempt to project conservatism.  Rush is a liar, Hannity is a cowardess fraud we need an investigation into who got paid what because there is nothing entertaining about rigging a GOP primary contest!!!

irrelevent conservatism & the left wing of the GOP

Why is it one minute Huckabee is irrelevant and the next he is preventing McCain from focusing on either democrat?  Since Rush is so brilliant and runs the whole country.   Hillary is the nominee with Huckabee being irrelevant what's the problem?

The problem is Huckabee is NOT irrelevant.  He is  the conservative candidate in the race.  Make no mistake about it he is in the race.  This fear that competition of ideas and letting the free voting market run its' course is bad is akin to communism.   All the projection all the lies that this party is not about to crack at the base  are wrong it is however ripe for a mutiny of the same ideas but the genuine article.  That was what Reagan did not because he was a white wall conservative but because he was a leader.  One who saw the solution to the problems through the prism of conservative ideas.

You can't put conservatism in a box like a pair of shoes.  Conservatism must be worn, it is spoken, it is a  core value of life, freedom, and individual liberty.  This notion one can anoint another to its' cause is foolish. Conservatism can not be taught it is an infection because it consumes the soul playing host to the choices one makes.   When conservatism solves a problem it is expected.   The wet fingered politics of liberalism has only one goal power.  Liberalism relies on the idea that with absolute power comes absolute control.    Controlling thought masked by fear to create a stampede of dought which is also spread.  But unlike an infection the core beliefs of liberalism must be taught and re-taught until the mind is devoid of independent thought, logic and common sense.  In a controlled environment the liberalism model works well.  However that is the key to understanding the differences between faith in God and faith in man.  Man can not control completely his own environment that is the fatal flaw of Liberalism.  Faith in  One Almighty God is the bedrock of conservative principle.

Talent on Loan From Clinton

Who wants talk-radio to be quiet?  Sean, says it Rush does to but in fact we want them to speak up.  They have some serious explaining to do.  Hey Rushbo what happened in New Hampshire?  That is right the pollster got it wrong when it came to Obama.  Remember saying they needed to figure it out, something about credibility? Well yours is in the crappier.  As is Hewitts', Hannitys', Ingrahams', Coulters", Savage and many other so-called objective, so-called conservative talking heads.

Savage refers to Rush as "Hush Bimbo" I found that offensive.  But when Boortz calls him the "Godfather" I now have the same reaction.  Hey Michael stench from the hypocrisy is not gaining monopoly.  Run like the scared lemmings to the cliffs of McCain.  Talk is sheeple everyone isn't about to singaiong acapella.
Speak in your sheep voice for this.
Keep talking about conservative principles projecting them on Romney was so effective.   Romney good Huckabee bad.  Who cares if Huckabee is the only conservative running.  We don't need a conservative we speak conservatively.  Huckabee is a preacher McCain is good preacher is bad.
Come on puppet sing for your supper you ignorant wind chime.  No one goes on the Savage Nation  because you are a parrot, a sidekick, a wagon jumping re-tread, a phony white wash neo-con.

Limbaugh you are the self proclaimed know it all how is it Huckabee isn't VP on the McCain ticket?  Could it be that the talk is now that Romney would join McCain?  Since Reagan is so important to projection standard should we examine his record?  I loved Reagan but he like Bush did things I disagreed with.  Is it because you are in denial?  I call it Ronald Reagan derangement syndrome.   I don't understand how Huckabees' record is much different than Reagans.  Then considering Reagans'  roots as a  conservative democrat.

Boortz is my hero in all this a simple man with a simple plan "fair tax 101".  The only one who criticized the hypocritical statements about Huckabees conservative record leveled by camp Romney through the drive by talk radio medium.  I don't agree that McCain is better than what  you think he is a hardcore democrat.  But it took a lot of courage to buck the trend.  A leader leads not for what liked but for what is right.

Most of talk-radio backed "Paper Tiger" conservative in Romney.  The women were the worst R-R-Romney shut up Ann if you can't back it up with facts anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of public opinion.

Soon we can expect them to start interviewing each other and talking about anything but the GOP primary.

What is wrong with John McCain

I have waited years for this an opportunity to try and recall all of the general election obstacles to John McCain.\

I think the biggest and most recent is his attempt to amnesty 20-30 million illegal aliens and leave the door open for the next 20-30.  McCain was in congress when Reagan signed similar legislation when McCain and many who have endorsed him promised  us and the Gipper they would fix the problem.  That was a 3.6 million illegal amnesty the affect of McCain/Kennedy could be three times that in five years.

John McCain wants to give terrorist foreign fighters a path to earned citizenship as well.  By granting them civilian rights under the United States Constitution.  These are men who were allowed to surrender for the express purpose of their ability to provide knowledge and information as need for the duration of the conflict.   As a former POW in Vietnam as if you didn't know.  He seems to be trying to equate his harsh treatment he  got with how US solders handle enemy combat detainees.   The constant revival of interrogation methods described as torture is 180% from troop support.   From sleep deprivation, to rap music even temperature change I wonder if soon we will be reading the Sheik Muhammad of the world their miranda rights on the battle field.

He sided with the democrats who wanted to maintain the recession brought on by Clintonomics.  His more than crossing of party lines to block cutting taxes proves his economical ignorance.  He can't even communicate in financial terms.  We need a person in power who can lead our economy not leave that up to the democrats.  He has tried to micro manage every effort by Bush to lower taxes, eliminate the death tax, and now he says forget it, your right we'll go with the Bush plan.  Talk about a flopflipper.

John McCain was at the top of the list to VP the Democrat 04' candidacy of John Kerry.  Not because Kerry as all Democrats know that he will reach across the isle to them.  But because he will not reach across the isle to the social conservative side of his own party.

These are just a few reasons Republicans and otherwise Conservative voters will not vote for McCain.  As far as liberals and so-called moderates they are a lock for the democrats.

Deuls & Civil Wars US vs DEM

The amazing thing about politics is how it makes for strange bed fellows.

 Hugh,
Who would have thought Hugh Hewitt would flipflop on McCain.  Did he not refer to Vietnamese as "gook" & made other comments as a sitting senator that are red meat for the "leftys" ?  I might be wrong but that would mean only a "nutter" , or some other type "rino" give him a pass on it.  That is why I tuned you out when you took to name calling humor to "paint a map".  Your games "pinned the tail on Romney" too.  That and the nana-nana -nahnah I'm better than you stuff.  If someone referred to you as "bottleface" that person would be a "bigot" Hugh just an example.

Laura,
Laura Ingraham looked "hot" at CPAC but not in the typical fashion.   90% of talk-radio gets'  the Triplegoogle Butt Monkey with a 540 Duck , followed by CPAC Lie of the Day .

Butt now that McCain is our parties presumed nominee we have support/vote for him anyway.  Butt Monkey thing its' a terrible choice in middle name.  Mitt Romney is a conservative butt he can't really prove it.
Ducking Huckabees conservative record, ducking his chances in South Carolina, in Florida, Super Tuesday a shock or a duck?  Quack, quack, quack...every time the 90%rs' mention his name it is straight to the name calling.  Nothing about the facts and they sure get excited.  Now talk-radio is either wrong or ducking the base .  Now pundits are going to try and duck the rest of the primary.
That gets me to the true crux of the matter or should I say Lie of the  Day.  I watched as the caucus results came in on Saturday for Washington.  Mitt drops out Thursday he and  John address CPAC.  Then on Saturday right before they allow Huckabee a chance to speak they hold a strawpoll.  The idea that Huckabee was drag on Mitt cost South Carolina, the lie his campaign left Florida was spun so bad by 90% of talk-radio someone wake Mr. O and get him on Is Alive.  The talk-radio campaign to nominate Mitt Romney by use of dishonest and purposeful distortions of truth can be both "entertainment" and a lie.

How can you of all people give this kind of a pass on your trade mark criticisms?   You are so mad about Mitt can't you see the facts?  Rush, Sean, Hugh, Mark, Micheal only Neal Boortz who I heard make any sense on this.  He said, "I don't know what the deal about everyone else on talk-radio".

Sean,

What did it for me was when you endorsed him on the air.  I knew that all that had come before, all the questionably favorable refferences made about Mitt were agenda based.  You have become nothing but the  victims #1 source for your most comprehensive pity party.  The Stop Huck Express was the other one.  You can't cheerlead and remain objective you proved it.   What happen to "Our Sacred Vow, Our Honest Commitment to Get You the Best, Most Comprehensive, Most Accurate (NOT!!!) Campaign Coverage On Your Radio Dial".   There is nothing entertaining about it.   So substitute consensus coverage, and purposefully inaccurate, don't worry the fact that you are honestly committed I believe.  So what vows are you going to be discussing 3 hours every day, pity?Hitlary?Who cares?

Mark,

Its' really not who you know its' what, and you are out of your mind, ya DOPE!!!

Micheal,

Was it the wine?  You fell out of line, as vultures would dine and now sleep with the swine.   McCain wants amnesty, an end to free speech, civil rights for terrorists.  Borders, Language, Culture!!!   Wake up man Huckabee never was any of that.   Huckabee is 10x the conservative and 20x the class he would never sell us out the minute we get control.   Promise to buy an island milk butterflies too but you  of all people MR. Independent appear to be on  iceberg watch aboard the USS Talker on the high seas.

El Maha Rushbo,

Tribal Council Leader,

Doctor of delusion.  The political process is in uncharted waters.  Has been since after the election in 06'.  The "template" of primaries in the past is gone.  You were either wrong about Huckabee or beholdent to Romney.  There comes a point at which I dought you.   I remember hearing your show for the first time when I was 13 years old going with my dad to Winfield, Kansas.  "Don't be Alarmed", twenty years later I listen to you almost everyday.  I know you are relevant and made the case day one.  That is why I can not believe you would be a negative "sad sally" or even "boo hoo" yourself into some kind of seizure of brilliance.  Huckabee is not John McCain.  Huckabee is not Hitlary.  Huckabee is not Ubama.  Romney is not Reagan.  But if he is like Reagan he has to prove it.  If he chooses McCain over Huckabee to endorse he is not Reaganesque.   Huckabee is not part of the gang of 14 that stone walled judges, Bolton, allowing a reinterpretation of filibuster rules.  Huckabee is about as much of a tax threat difference as a mosquito is  to a vampire.  Huckabee won't let illegals die in the streets but McCain wants to become the nation of "New Mexico".  Free speech, the fairness doctrine,  abortion, justices, Huckabee is far better on all of those issues.   What happened to the free expression of ideas?  I missed the CPAC speech Thursday and almost sent flower to Punkin on Friday.  John McCain is not electable in a general election.  You know it, I know it,  even Hewitt and Levine know.  Has talk-radio relocated to the EIB western command live from Rio Linda?   True analysis of primary and caucus results would at least suggest an early bias to accurately and objectively report the news.  I am not eulogizing you or anyone else just saying simply this.

Dan Rather had ratings!!!

The division is between the Huck vote, the Mitt vote, and the didn't vote.  The minority is not a majority thus the frontrunner a patsy.

Divisions Of Huck & Mitt

Once upon a time their was a "second tier candidate" named Mike Huckabee.  Who put his hat in the ring to be president.   To the king makers this former Baptist minister and social conservative posed a real opportunity.  He was hand picked by those whose job it is can only be described as the ones who talk the talk.  His task was simple in their minds.
They knew a pro-choice Guilani would never go over well with the base.  That left war hero turned political hack John S. McCain vs born again conservative Mitt Romney.  So the task was simple they sought to push the fading candidacy of John off the top tier and into the sunset.  Fred Thompson was their first choice for this mission.  After months of hype he was cast as one who would not fight for their honor.
With Iowa approaching and some in talk-radio already showing their hands it was obvious the talk favorite was Romney.  But he was behind in national polls to a candidate who wasn't even campaigning in most states.  Guilani was presumed the frontrunner from day one by the main stream press out of shear name recognition.  No one outside the know had ever heard of Mitt. With McCain and Guilani basically conceding Iowa it seemed like a perfect opportunity to showcase their choice.   But what never never expected to happen has mushroomed into the biggest story of the future  of GOP politics.
The main stream press saw Huckabee as the genuine article.  He made numerous appearances on all the network morning shows with a charm that stunned the conserve-phobic left into a state of shock.  Seeing him not as one of the elites but closer to them in many ways but with a conservative message.  Whether it was his inspirational story of his dramatic weight loss as Gov. of Arkansas.  It could have been his bass guitar.  He always seemed to bridge the gap of common ground in a down to earth way.   When the attacks came on his record he didn't run or hide he went right back explaining it in terms that were easily understood.  They accepted him despite political differences it was like a fresh breeze blowing 20 years of dust out of an attic.
However Gov. Huckabee had other opposition those in his own party.  The ones who exploited the fact he didn't have $40 million to spend.  Mitt was a lock in Iowa except he had to beat someone for it to mean anything.   Then came the Huckaboom Iowan choose Mike not Mitt in a caucus that shocked the pundits.  But without a solid ground game in New Hampshire the moved quickly to down play the first contest.  However after The first primary was won by McCain the panic became clear.  With South Carolina on the political horizon the buzz was started.  Projection is a rich mans political tactic that knows no party lines.  With talk-radio on board the Romney campaign claimed that Huckabee was siphoning the conservative vote away from Mitt who would otherwise beat McCain.  After the results put him in third they used the tact of misinformation.  Another toy of the rich and who better to spread the rumor than talks own darling Sean Hannity.  He was the first to announce that Huckabee would not campaign in Florida.   With in days on Super Tuesday he demanded that Huckabee dropout of the race.  Talk radio soon followed.   Likening his candidacy to Ron Paul they dismissed he will o the voters in an attempt to run Huckabee out of town.
Super Tuesday was the contest this country had never seen.  It had been almost a century since the primary landscape was devoid of a the presence of the current administration.  Throw everything out the trends of the past were gone.  The polls were off, the waters untested, and history was afoot.  In the weeks leading up to the big day talk-radio seemed more united than ever.   Huckabee was cast the spoiler, Romney the victim and McCain our worst nightmare.   How did they get it so wrong?
In Post election analysis of publicly available results the answers are crystal clear.  Romney finished second in two states Delaware and California they were the only such states that he could have won if Huckabee were out.  Huckabee could have won Missouri with the Ron Paul 4% even if you gave McCain Guilanis' 1%.   But that is just the start Huckabee would have won Oklahoma and gotten far more delegates in the southern states that he won if the margin of his victories had been higher.   The states Romney won by use of the siphoning theory would all be in the Huckabee camp as well.  Remember this to democrats almost doubled the GOP in voter turn out.  Was this push for Mitt by radio also responsible for depressing voter turnout?  The pundits ignored that Huckabee was even in the race at all yet he somehow manages to get votes.   Neither the Huckabee voter nor the Romney voter wants McCain that is obvious after Saturdays Louisiana, Kansas and Washington.  However I find one thing a bit odd.  With all the talk leading up to Super Tuesday  being about the well documented liberal record of McCain.  Then the CPAC speech and suspension by Romney of his campaign.  The die is cast for Romney to try again in 2012, or 2016.   But the oddity is that of the publicly anti-McCain crowd who have now jumped into their RINO suits to compromise ALL their "conservative principals" because they view him as better than a democrat.   I missed however the point where Huckabee is not hands down better than both.
So I leave you with this thought.  If Mitt Romney is true to his word seeking the best interest of the party over political gain he has a choice.  Give his party a choice Huckabee is seen as the conservative of the two remaining candidates.  His numbers reflect the influence of those who supported Mitt and ignored him.  If Mitt served in public view displaying his new found conservatism in a conservative administration he would be a lock in future contests.  He needs a record of conservatism not just advocates on his behalf.  If he threw in for McCain he would end his political career with McCain this November.  The 20 ton elephant in the room is that McCain could put Jesus Christ himself in the role of VP and loose.  His campaign is a pipe dream only possible by the divisions created by Huckabee and Romney voters.  No one our side could seriously want either democrat to win this election.  Unity is not beyond reach but it will take gestures of unity not by pundits or the frontrunner.  It will have to come from the camps of Huckabee and Romney.   To Mitt Romney I say this you fought a well organized battle that if your message mirrored your record things would be different.   To Mike Huckabee I say fight on despite the odds conservatism will win the day.  I would encourage the two to mend fences to show unity that we are all members of the same Grand Old Party.
