Okay I don't know if I am reading too much into the now famous"lipstick on a pig comment". But if you are like me and have done any research in the matter here is my summation of facts. Obama was obviously talking about a Bush McCain thing when he made the dead fish comment refering to 8 years. Then you would also have to associate naturally the pig comment at being directed at Gov. Palin. However and here is where it gets a bit more interesting. Obama spent the entire primary cycle comparing Hillary to Bush and McCain. He ridiculed her vote for the war authourization act, in fact on a number of occasions the MSM called her the "republican cadidate for the DNC ticket." They used GOP attack models leaked by talk radio suggesting her likeability was close to 50% negative. The truth is Hillary while liberal as she is Obama is way worse. So I guess what I am getting at is that Obama has been on this quest for almost 2 years publically. When Obama says, "you can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig", and when he says, "you can wrap a fish in paper for 8 yrs and it's gonna stink", who is he really talking about? Obama needs the Hillary voters because he can't touch the McCain crowd. Where he has lost ground is in the ruins of the Hillary camp. The fact that women are gravatating to a strong campaign theme of security is no secret. We used to call them the "security moms". They are pulling for McCain in droves new women joining the ranks everyday, and Obama is seeing it as the attendance drops at recent events and in the polls.
Obama flipped Hillary off in a debate, he didn't even consider her for VP even though he went on record saying the were considering her. This comment he made on Monday is no accident either this was a planned staged event and there was a script for his appearance. When he said, "lipstick on a pig" what he is really refering to is that Saran Palin is a very attractive woman. She is also a bit younger than Mrs. Clinton I think the remark was intended to diminish anyone to his right on policy. He went on and on about every policy of Bush likening his actions to those that would be taken by McCain. Which is exactly what he said about Hillary in the primary. But because of Mrs. Palin's joke at the convention speech Obama saw an opportunity to liken himself to the women voters by calling her a pig. But because he likened Hillary to McCain isn't he really calling Hillary a pig to?
In fairness McCain did use the same phrase but in a totally different context. His comments were directed toward the universal healthcare proposal of the Clinton campaign. Which are the same failed ideas of her Hillary care proposal when acting as first lady over a decade ago. McCain was making a comparison between the two when he said, " you can put lipstick on a pig". Because the plan was exactly the same.
Obama is taking about those who do not lock step with his brand of liberalism. When he is saying, "lipstick on a pig" he is blankly calling out anyone who agrees with any George Bush policy, like Hillary. He is trying to scare and intimidate her voters, that is why he has to diminish her in public. He is trying to scar them into thinking McCain is not a choice they can live with. He has but one simple problem and it's not the shade on his lips. Obama has played identity politics this entire cycle, from rock star to prophet of the strange change. Now the focus is on him, the skeletons are on the march and the closets are full.
