Wow after what looked like a hurried production from the president and first lady. Fred Thompson got thunderous applause when he told the Minnesota crowd that John McCain would never claim the life of a living baby born outside the womb was above his pay grade. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd when he detailed the treatment McCain faced while in captivity. I disagree with McCain on several issues, however as clearly pointed out by Thompson Sarah Palin handles those issue perfectly. I think what else Fred enlightened the viewers of that John is solid, he is no mystery like Obama. I think with the selection of Palin we are assured that of GOP reform is closer to the majority of the base. McCain is a great American and tonight on display without a dought, it almost makes you think of what kind of men the DNC would try to cast in that same light. Men like Kerry, or Murtha-ditha who serve to support their own later criticism of our military efforts abroad. After what Thompson described as the torture John went through I know he would never give up on a single man/woman in uniform. Liberman came oout next and looked like a man renewed. He looked happier than I can ever remember seeing him. His speech was almost flawless, his smile, and laughs he had the crowd on their feet with his delivery. But when he drew out the booh it reminded me of everything this campaign has been for some in the closets of the Reagan Democrats. They didn't want their friends to see them vote for a Republican, because then they would be banished the same as he was. People like Joe Liberman who grew up believing the Democrats were always the good guys. Just what Reagan told a reporter when he ran for the governorship of California as a Republican has now happened before our eyes to Joe Liberman. He was the the 00' Democrat VP nominee and his party has in fact left him to stand alone. They conspired in his case to oust him from his senate seat. When he directed his thoughts to any Independents or Democrats out there that you should look at both candidates and their records and not for the letter behind their name it was brillant. I think the reason he brought up Bill Clinton was a point that he also got elected by Reagan Democrats. To those in the Hillary camp who might lean toward a bit of an independent minded McCain.
