Like all the other DNC double standards and slight of hand politics, this gas story has more legs then a John Madden turkey. First off the DNC has to date not only gotten tax free gas since the host commitee began it's opperations in Denver they say in March (probably well before that). But the DNC owes the bill for the gas they have consumed ($10,000) still to the city aside from the taxes. Obama who is sure we wouldn't benefit from a gas tax holiday won't even comment on this latest gaff. Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper (D) came out immediatly and accused RNC host commitee members of having similar arraignments with their host city. Really, you mean the MSM monkeys missed that? Oh thats right, probably because it never happened, but in true political fashion he deflects critism by pointing his finger away from what is proven fact to his hipothetical belief. DNC spokemen excuse their actions by stating that private fuel souces might be tainted. Could it be he is referring to Ethanol some reports have indicated that city pumps are not only exempt from state and federal taxes but also from the 10% Ethanol mandate. There has got to be a picture of Harry Reid next hipocrit in the dictonary. The other claim made by DNC officals is a need for security. They claim cars carrying dignataries might be vulnerable if they don't get use of the city pumps.
They still get their free cars washes, the City of Denver is still providing them with free buses and GM has offered them use of hybrid vehicles. I thought there were campaign finance laws, not for democrats.
Oh and an inside source has also told me that the phrase "tax free gasoline" is deliberate in the sense that the DNC host commitee is still allowed tax free status on E85 since all of their vehicles are flex fuel they will still find a way around this yet.
