This is part 4 of my no holds barred interview with Missouri's 5th US House District Primary candidate Chris Knowlton.
World Issues
1) Would you support the President of the United States if he felt it in our nations best interest to bomb or send air strikes to eliminate a nuclear threat in Iran? What about Israel if they attack? What about a response to attacks on Israel?
I thought the E.U. was going to handle Iran… Once again America has to carry the worlds load. If there were no other option I would whole heartadly support Israel or the U.S. in eradicating the threat of Iran with Nukes. I pray that the population of Iran will take it upon themselves to overthrow the Hitler of our age and join the nuke free world. It is a long shot, but I believe that the Persians have a desire to be free and out from under the thugs that seem to be ruling their country. Let’s pray that they save us from taking extreme action!
2) Do you believe that free trade with Columbia is good for the American worker or the government? Or both, if so how?
We need allys in the war on drugs and this current leader of Columbia seems to be doing the right things at great personal risk. He and his country should be rewarded and to the degree the Free Trade act would help his cause, I would be for the Columbia act. Our workers are under threat by other more menacing forces and that includes China and the job killing restrictions that our government has imposed on industry. But I feel that Columbia is not a direct threat to our workers.
3) Would you support capital punishment for Osama Bin Laden if he is captured? Should he be tried in America, by a tribunal, or by the UN?
A quick hanging would be best. But who should be trusted to make that happen? Show trials and the rhetoric that would be spewed would be distasteful whereever he was on trial.
4) Would you favor normalizing relations with Cuba?
Not while Castro is in power. Even the brother is a tyrant and can not ever be trusted
5)If legislation requiring all Chinese products imported to the US be on a probationary scrutiny until safety concerns are eliminated would you sign on to it?
Yes! But there are underling fundamentals that need to be addressed. I am for imposing duties on all imports, which would equal the cost of production in America. Then we can have a true discussion on the restrictive nature of the regulations and taxes, which burden American businessmen and their decisions to import goods. Where is this fairness that is often spoken of when it comes to American jobs? Let’s have that discussion and see what we find. What former government person is an agent for foreign concerns?
6) Given the fact that Democrat leaders are invested in a failed war strategy, is it now time to call them out on the successes of the Presidents surge plan?
Some one should! The lies, deception, the crazy political posturing that has been the template of this past 8 years is amazing. Yes the Dems. Should be held to account for their words, Jack Mirtha. Some should be ask to resign for their cruel and lazy view of what they originally voted for.
Hope this offers some insight into Mr Knowlton and how he would conduct business as Missouri's 5th District House Rep.
