Two weeks ago my blog got on a banned list "by accident". While I apprectiate Mr Reagals correcting the "mistake" I still feel it has more to do with the content of my publishings. I have been a conservative since birth not because my parents were but because I see the common sense in true conservatism. This sudo conservatism we see today is not what makes people want to join a cause. The cause is no longer represented by the GOP. We are in a sense without a party. Speaking for myself only I have listened to talk radio for a majority of my life now. At 34 years of age I am one of the original "Rush Babies" he represents something to my life I find it trully hard to describe. I remember when the movement grew and the likes of Hannity, Ingraham and yes even Hewitt came on the scene. I stood in line once for four hours to have Hugh sign a book once. Then I discovered Prager, Savage and Boortz if only we had teachers of such caliber in every school. But that is not why I am writing this entry.
We have been duped my friend by these good people who have fallen prey to the same ignorance they exposed. The hardest things in life are the time you look in the mirror. Even harder still is when the people around you are blind to the short comings and overlook negative. What is about to happen to talk radio will come as no shock to some of us it is just that plain. When an enitre movement looses sight of its' identity credibility is soon to follow. The facts chronicled below are proof of this. Some in this party have stooped to levels within the party that I never thought possible. These tactics mirror the nominee of this party and the base of the other party. To deliberatly distort a GOP candiates record and chartacter is not something conservative will accept. Especially when its' elected officials can't talk about the true aspect of democrats running or elected to office. But I think what really was the straw that broke the back of the base was when talk radio thought they would just decide for the party who we should vote for. The back lash from it will be easier seen by historians. The golden goose is dead.
Facts:
1) The NY Times picked McCain as the its' favorite GOP nominee. So even though republicans despise the Times Limbaugh is blaming their "innfluence in deciding our primary process.
2) Talk radio declared in unison that a vote for Mike Huckabee was a vote for McCain. Even though Romney endorsed him and an honest review of 2/5/8 primary results prove that he would have only won 2 more contest if he had Huckabees numbers.
3) Huckabee would have won Missouri, Oklahoma, and more delagate in Alabama if those votes are "interchangeable".
4) Sean Hannity reported Huckabee out of the race in Florida and publically called for him to dropout of the race before South Carolina.
5) All of talk radio distorted his record as being worse than McCains'.
6) All of talk radio propped up Romney as a "Reagan Conservative" even though he has an ultra liberal track record on social issues.
7) All of talk radio call out those who would not vote for Romney "biggots" blaming his religion as the primary reason even though it was a mere caviot to his track record. It seems they could care less that LDS was the product of a man of questionable character who was an admitted racist, womanizer and child molester. Oh and that his followers revere him as a god. All facts and we are the biggots?
8) There is not a difference one between Obama and Clinton yet after Romney dropped out that is all talk radio wanted to discuss.
9) CPAC allowed all GOP candidates a forum prior to their "straw poll" except Huckabee.
10) Washinton States' GOP commited election fraud in its' caucus by awarding McCain with a win and refused to count the last 13% of the vote.
All this does't prove we need a fairness doctrine even though our next president is sure to to sign it if it reaches his desk. It doesn't prove we need change either. It most certainly doesn't mean that we need to vote for the democrats. What it does prove is that the GOP has joined the DNC and that we are a country of one party. There isn't a dimes difference between McCain, Clinton or Obama. McCain has lied about his intentions in the past and I really don't believe he is telling the truth now. He will appoint the same justices Clinton or Obama would because he will always seek to befriend the left. He will increase taxes when they heat up the retoric. He will be another George H.W. Bush and wimp out to the terrorist instead of finishing the fight in Iraq.
We need a new party ours is either too stupid to see this or too broken to care.
